Avoiding store bought canvas or glossy paper, Nate Valensky uses found materials for his musical woodblock prints and paintings. Weaving music into many of his pieces, Valensky enjoys putting on some good music and flipping through old Jazz books for inspiration. The influence of Jazz is prelevent in his multi-layerd prints and expressionist touch of the brush. Nate's work is such that the viewer must stop and take it all in, like the music that inspires him. When he's not creating, Nate is drawing lines on concrete with his smooth and technical skating skills.
